hi, newbie here on a short term placement, looking for a place to pick up a remote control plane. A lot of the links on the site are quite old now, and so i was wondering if anyone know of such a place ?

There are many R/C shops in SH. I saw one off Nanjing Xi Lu near the freeway.

You check out Taobao yet? For expensive things like transmitters I probably would go check them out in person. But for cheap parts and what nots Taobao is killer.

Hongmei Lu (in Hongqiao) has a little r/c shop, owned by Jap guy

If you want to save $$$, check out Baoshan Lu Market.
I bought a neat R/C helicopter 40 cm. long for RMB 130. Flies like a charm. There are planes there as well.
You need a local negotiater though.

I'm not sure if the toy shop next to McDonalds at the Subway Line 2 Zhongshan park sells this... but in case you're near you can check it out too.
