Remote controlled racing car

Postby FamilyToBe » Wed Dec 10, 2008 6:29 pm

Needing some Manly help
Want to buy the hubby a remote controlled racing car for Xmas
Yes he is still a big kid at heart and what could be a better time of the year to indulge his childish side
Anyhow wondering where do I need to go and what model I should be looking for?
How much is a good price for a pretty good model?
It's not his main present so I was thinking around the 600rmb mark?
Is this going to be enough?
Any advise would be welcome from all potential petrol heads
Any other suggestion for good boy presents would be great - just think your girlfriend/wife might be reading this and get a few ideas :D
We're in French Concession but willing to travel for a good deal

Many Thanks

Hi am also on the lookout for one for my 5 year old!!! Have seen Ferrari 1/10 scale in Bai Bai Ban (Pudong) around 500/600 rmb.

Also saw some nice ones in the toy shop in the top floor of the shopping mall where Freshmart is in Jing An (sorry can't remember the name but I am sure someone will be able to tell you). Again price is around 500 rmb mark.

Toys R Us has a selection but they are smaller and cheaper quality.

There are a couple of fantastic model shops on Jinglin Lu, the street with all the music stores. Not sure about remote controlled cars but the window displays certainly brought my childhood days rushing back. Might be worth a look.

Do you want to buy him a gasoline-powered or battery-powered remote controlled car?

Sort of like buying your wife a new set of socket wrenches for your anniversary?
Not all chemicals are bad. Without chemicals such as hydrogen and oxygen, for example, there would be no way to make water, a vital ingredient in beer.....Dave Barry

Hi,
my suggestion, go to Hong kou stadium, waigohobby model shop, for 600 to 1000 rmb you can find rc cars which are supposed to be for big kids.
At least if your frined like it can upgrade it or if brake it can fix it.
