residence permit / Z visa / multi-entry ?

Just like it says.. a forum for discussion of these things.

residence permit / Z visa / multi-entry ?

Postby bamse » Mon Aug 01, 2005 5:04 pm

Hi all,

I finally received my Z working visa, after going through the whole mess of medical check, loads of papers and stuff.
But finally I only have a "residence permit for foreigner" (外国人居留许可)sticker in my passport, whereas I have read a few times on this forum that I should have some kind of green booklet, or so...

So did I miss something in the process ?
The sticker isn't even called "visa", and doesn't mention anything about entries. I will need to leave china for a month by end of august. Is the sticker I have enough for that ? (exit/entry of the country)

thanks a lot for your help,

laurent

the sticker in the passport now replaces the resident permit green book. this new system was introduced about 6 months ago.

if you wish to leave and re-enter then you still need a valid Z visa, like the one you used to enter china in the first place.

so that means I have to apply for yet another round of papers ?
Just wonder why the heck the lady who helped me fill the form didn't tell me about it at the police station...
