Restaurant on the Bund......sorry!

Postby CK1 » Wed Oct 17, 2007 11:22 am

Ok, ok, I know this has been done to death, but please bear with me as I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for whilst searching this site.

My folks have been out on holiday here and it's there last evening out tomorrow. Would like to take them to a Bund restaurant with a view of Pudong. Having spent many a night drinking on the Bund, i have come to realise to I have never eaten there!

Firstly, which one should we go to, cost is not important.

Secondly, if I book now, can I request a seat by the window or outside with a view (maybe its getting a bit chilly for that now though), or is this option not available until you arrive?

Thanks in advance!

there are actually many options at the bund since more and more bar/restaurants have opened there.
you choices:
1. 3 on the bund (just in that building you have many options to choose from, new heights, larus, sean george, huang pwa club)
2. Attica (bar/restaurant, they have a pretty good view on the patio area, however right now might be alittle chillin there, but a pretty good view)
3. bund 18 (couple outlets there i believe u already knows since u've been bar hopping there)

I m pretty sure there are more decent restaurants there now, also i saw couple good ones last time when i walk pass near the Wai Bai Du Bridge (almost at the end of the Zhong Shan Dong 2 Rd near bund 18.

If you want some higher views you could even try the hotels nearby

cheers

Laris is my favourite which is at 3 on the Bund. Budget on about 800 rmb per person. No outside view the view is through their windows but still nice. M on the Bund (at Bund 5) has a great balcony for viewing but I doubt you can sit out there for the meal. Then there's Jean Georges (back at 3 on the Bund) but I've only had brunch not dinner there. And finally, Sens and Bund (at Bund 18), about the same price as Laris, not bad for that special evening.
