Rumor - Capital Gains TAX on Real Estate next month

Postby Michael » Thu Aug 26, 2004 9:41 am

I have actually heard from several people and no one seems to know the specfic details yet.. but next month the gov will introduce a Capital Gains tax on real estate sales in an effort to cool out the speculation in the real estate market. This will have big impact on prices ( at least on buying) and maybe on rental as investors might have to keep their properties longer to avoid short term taxes. I guess we'll see.
