Re: China Clones, Sells Russian Fighter Jets

Hitler's greatest mistake was his refusal to attack the UK in the early days and in the later, failing to bomb them into the stone age. Like all good Germans, he knew the English were Germans with a Saxon royal family and waited for them to join the Reich, but the Brits had that moron Chruchill as a...

Just thinking about food prices today after seeing ics news where these three stories aired in a row. 1st, recycled cooking oil factory found in SongJiang (reason, people pay a lot of money for it). 2nd, increase in food prices (people can't afford it). 3rd, sales on shoes and cosmetics at malls (pe...

Re: China price controls

One of the girls that works there told me that things are getting tough lately as raw materials prices keep going up and up. The reason for the raw material price increases is that commodities are priced in US dol...

Re: Car liability insurance-what's available?

Best insurance is to buy a very big car, a hummer for example. I'd personally like to have my own Freightliner... hahaha. According to the law, in accidents, such as a motor cycle driver getting knocked to the ground or minor fender benders, the parties are to negotiate and cash should be paid on th...

Re: Landlord Advice - Extending our contract for another yea

How much have market rents moved in the past year? Is it much? My landlord wants to raise my rent by 200rmb a month after a 2 year initial rental term. Not worth arguing over so I agreed. Markets have dropped and so have the values of homes. I'd counter with a 200rmb reduction off the current rent....

Re: Shanghai's housing market will crash after Expat left?

FYI:
The government said housing prices will drop by 20% in the first quater of 2011. Looks like the bubble's deflating.

And yes, expats don't own much property here. Currently, they are only allowed to own 1 house which the must live in and cannot rent out if they leave.
