Seeking agent to help with residence permits

Postby alexchevrolle » Mon Nov 09, 2009 11:28 pm

Hi,

I am relocating to Shanghai with my wife and 2 kids in January. I am looking for a reputable agent to assist us with arranging the relevant papers/appointments for residence.

Can anyone recommend one?

Thanks!

You don't need an agent to do this. The institution that is "hosting" you in China (e.g. employer, university) needs to apply for certain documents on your behalf to allow you and your family to apply for a residence permit once you are here. They should and probably will take care of the whole process for you without charge except for government fees. If your institution doesn't know either then yes get an agent. It seems daunting for new arrivals, but it's not really.
The Vatican is against surrogate mothers. Good thing they didn't have that rule when Jesus was born.

Well, just like Shangstar said, you don't need an agent to do this. You may need to fill in many forms and need to submit many documents to get your residence permit, but many of them should be transacted by the organization employ you. What you should do is to get your health certificate and tenancy contract, then hand over them.
