Selling real estateagent for west Huangpu close to Xintiandi

Postby M4Succubus » Tue May 05, 2009 1:18 pm

Anyone know of a good agent to sell an apartment close to Xintiandi and People's square on Xizang Rd?

I've dealt with a few agents who haven't made much effort.

The apartment is here:

Thanks johnnyboy but we have very few sales enquires. Happy to try and find a buyer though. Shall check with my agents.

M4Succubus, I noted you are based in the USA and your contact number is US. Do you have a local rep at all? I know very few local agents that will spend a dime on international calls when there are locals here selling and it is easier to contact them. Another thing to know about local agents in regards to making international calls is that the majorty of agents here are from the countryside where making a domesic call is "a big thing" let alone an internationl call.

The levels of infrastructure in real estate services here are still quite basic and it has a long way to go. The real estate market in sales is a mere 10 or so years old. Prior to that all was state or developer owned.

I think I should write a book one day on it all.......

Adrienne, I reckon such a book would be very interesting indeed. Especially if it is funny!
The Vatican is against surrogate mothers. Good thing they didn't have that rule when Jesus was born.

Hi Adrienne,

Yes my contact number is in the US but I have a local friend who can help out.

I've sent you an email with her number.

I've had quite a difficult time finding agents who care about selling a place. Perhaps 1% commission is not sufficient. Whatever the reason, no one seems to do more than shrug.

How do people get to see the place? I mean if you're in the US that's probably a tough one for anybody.
If you have a representative here (make sure they speak chinese, and he's ok with it, ask them to register the property with the following and it should be enough.
Maybe see what others are there, Taixing, Familiar Real Estate etc, but generally, if you give it to centaline, all the others will have it too.

Your price has to be competitive too though and you must make it easy for people to see, otherwise they won't bother with it because they think you're an insincere seller.
Plus, make sure you tell them the price.

I'm not interested, but I imagine listing the price would be a good start?
