Shanghai indoor sports--what's available?

Postby ATP » Sun Dec 04, 2011 4:15 pm

It's coming on winter now (cold enough), and I must get myself into a better form of activity other than the now uninteresting but regular, basic 20 minute at-home exercise routine that I do.

I have been trying to see what is available here in Shanghai in the way of indoor sports, along the lines of a list. Can't seem to find anything specific. Any members here able to kindly assist?

Thanks.

I usually go swimming once a week~ it's a good choice. Do u live in Pudong or Puxi? Badminton is also good too.
Everybody wants happiness. No one wants pain. But how can you make a rainbow without a little rain?

As I said, this was what was indicated; a list/summary of data I found & created via archives search.

You have merely to do an archives search in this forum to verify any (or all) of the list items, as well as other details.

ETA: I know that there are other indoor sports mentioned but not included in the list. Members are invited to add to the list of indoor sports that they know of (& know for sure) that are available to the public.

Yuanshen Gymnasium in Pudong has a lot of indoor facilities - Basketball, Tennis, Football, Badminton and probably others. Maybe Squash.

Two more "sports" come to my mind that are available:
Indoor Carting
Indoor Archery

They won't make you sweat but can be some real fun.

Jokes aside folks, you're a bit light on the details for venues, address etc. Feel free to add them...

I also like the facilities @ Yuanshen .. but one thing is you have to book for the place ahead of time !

The "Indoor" tennis center sucks, it's bloody COLD in the winter! I guess it's better than playing outside when it's in the single digits.

There are two Indoor Kart tracks, Disc Kart (http://www.kartingchina.com/) and Stampede Karting (http://www.stampedekarting.com) .
I forgot the prices, sorry. I think Disc Kart had a buy 5 get 6 ticket deal.

I just found out that my archery moved. I often went to Dao Shun Achery at Zhaojiabang Lu but they moved to somewhere around the Yu Garden. As soon as I find out where they went exactly I will tell you.
