Shanghai to South America

Postby chinamanshuffle » Mon Mar 20, 2006 12:58 pm

I am wondering if there are any good travel agencies around Shanghai that do a good job with getting cheap tickets to South America. I want to go to Chile or Argentina this coming July and i figure i should get on it as soon as possible..

thanks

I don't know of any but am interested in traveling to Argentina. Last time I looked the prices were quite expensive....

Argentina is a fantastic place.

Options to go from here to Argentina:
1-Shanghai-Frankfurt-Buenos Aires or Frankfurt-Sao Paulo - Buenos Aires (i presume there are direct flights from Buenos Aires to Frankfurt or Paris)
2-Shanghai-HongKong-Capetown-SaoPaulo-Buenos Aires (not sure there are direct flights from Capetown)
3-Shanghai-Sidney-Buenos Aires (there is a flight from Quantas over the south pole)

Dont know any agency specialized in South America though.

Last time I flew to Sao Paulo they charged my company 2000usd. It must assume you can get something more competitive than that.

hope useful.

heavenstation... Thank you for the travel agent information. I just shot them an email. What is the price range they normally quote you and what is the usual airline and travel course? I'm trying to go to Bs. As., Argentina

You can also get to Buenos Aires via Auckland, New Zealand. That may be the same as the Sydney flight that HC mentioned (it may go Sydney-Auckland-Buenos Aires), but I think it is probably a different one. Unlikely to be cheaper than going via Australia, but you never know what deals are being offered.
Naturally, I finished my set. . .

My supplier told me that normally the airline update their tariff and launch the special offer quarterlly, so if you want get quote for July the right time to ask is the middle of Apr.

If you have Chinese friends, get them to do the booking, I think they're good at convincing travel agents to give you a little discount. I was even able to get a discount during peak season when I bought a ticket at the very last minute....thanks to one of my Chinese friends.
