Shexpat Golf Society

Postby Dazza » Sun May 13, 2007 2:23 pm

Who is interested in creating a golf society here?

Anyone that has time on their hands Looking to play regular and meet once or maybe twice a month preferably on a weekend day.

We can play a different course every time, create competitions with prizes.

Heres a list of to do's

1. Need a regular minibus driver to take us to the courses and back at a reasonable rate.

2. We need someone to negotiate with the local clubs, green fees including breakfast or lunch etc...

3. Anyone that works in the industry here would love to hear from you as most of us will probaly be playing as visitors.

4. I need clubs and equipment, best places to shop and buy?

I know Walrus and Mat are up for it, anyone else?

Count me in...Are you looking for real clubs, or fakes?

Northeast corner of nanjing lu and zhongqing lu. Two blocks west of the Marriott on Nanjing Lu. "Sunshine Fashion and Accesories Mall"...aka new Zhenyang Market on Puxi side. Science and Technology MRT stop on the Pudong side. Full set (Putter, Irons, Woods) of US brand name(Taylormade, Ping, Callaway...) plus golf bag of "A" grade clubs should be about $150USD. Tell them less than you have to spend...they will guide you to B grade...not that much of a difference really, they will rust slower!....bargain hard and you should be all set.

I think there is a driving range north of XianXia Rd / Zunyi Rd.

Golf newbie, practicing & playing with irons only. Can I join the society for games?

The LuiJiazui one is the shite for sure. Not a problem to lug clubs on the metro. In fact, maybe buy one of those little travel bags that fits about 4 or 5 clubs in. that is all you need.

I will see what i can do to get this thing off the ground. Maybe the lads at www.justbeer.cn can do something??? :)

everybody interested email to

holeinoneshanghai@mac.com

send your telephone number and what time you're available on sunday, also where you live, so we can come up with a convenient meeting point and go together or decide to meet there.

I'll try to recruit some foxes that can play beer-caddies
