Shimao Riviera Garden vs 8 Park Avenue

Postby mz_mt » Sat Feb 04, 2012 9:34 pm

Hi all,
We have just moved to Shanghai and need some guidance on housing and pre-schools.

For housing we are try to decide between Shimao Riviera Garden (Pudong) and 8 Park Ave (Puxi).

Would appreciate any feedback about the Complex & location? Convenience, Shopping, management, community and kids activity.

Also what are the pre school around these complexes.

Thanks.

Both are good choices really. 8 Park is without question more 'downtown', but you will get a much bigger place for your money at Shimao. The pool and other amenities at Shimao are ace (only beach-style wave pool in town!) but living at 8 Park will have more walkable shopping and dining options. (You'll have em at Shimao as well, but not as many.) As far as kid stuff goes, they are about equal - plenty of playgroups and kindies available in near proximity to both. Bottom line, it comes down to which side of the river you want to be on. The final say on this should probably be, whichever partner is working, where is the office? If it is on the Pudong side, go for Shimao; if on Puxi go for 8 Park.
Cack, my blog is buggered.
