Shipping taxes? Any ideas

Postby fancy_drancy » Thu Oct 26, 2006 8:07 am

Hi everyone,
My computer that has been repair in Canada for the past decade (or atleast that's how long it feels) is finally ready to be shipped. Fed Ex has quoted me a price around 300 USD, not included Shanghai Entry Taxes. Does anybody have any ideas about how much these Entry costs will be? I heard that if I have it shipped to the airport then maybe they will not charge you any fees. It's all so confusing....any help or knowledge you could give me on the subject would be great!....
cheers

Also it need a license. So, i'd like to buy a new one in China.

There is a harmonized tariff code. If you can find that (usually on FedEx website) then FedEx can tell you what the duty should be. I think minimum is 10%.
