I am looking for a place for a friend to live while he visits me in Shanghai for 1 month. Are there any places that you know of with reasonable 1-month rates? Any advice would be appreciated...I just got here myself, so I have no idea what the housing situation is like (my place was arranged for me).

Anywhere near Zhongshan Park is especially welcome!

Well, as cheap as possible! I have no real sense of the prices here, but under $1000 USD for sure. I'm looking at a hostel right now, but I don't know how good that will be or if we have other options.
