Should I book my tickets to Shanghai now?

Postby sienna » Sat Dec 29, 2007 6:36 am

Having searched for the whole evening, the cheapest air fare I could find was for 6700 kr, approximately 6800 rmb, going with Swiss Airline (from stockholm to have a layover in zurich, and then to shanghai)

all others were over 7300..

It's quite early to book my ticket now considering I won't go to Shanghai before beginning of June....but I'm afraid that if I wait I will have to pay even more considering the Olympic Games will make the tickets to China more attractive.

I already missed out the chance to only pay 6200 going with my fav. airline Virgin Atlantic back in Aug /sept when I last checked the air prices for summer 2008.

Im planning to order the ticket in about 3 hours...so please reply if you this is a good idea :)
thanks!

hehe plus another question, is it worth to get a mile card if I only do about 1-2 longhaul travels per year?

Yes and yes. Swiss has the cheapest prices right now cuz they only got the spots in Shanghai just now. In a short time they will up the prices too. Mile card for Swiss is good as Swiss is a Member of Star Alliance with many other Air lines. You rack up points pretty fast.

Yes and yes, yet again.

fares will only rise as tourist season approaches. joining the mileage club can't hurt... you would be amazed how much free travel you can get from it!
