Should I just take a standing train ticket?

Postby ChinaBrah » Wed Aug 31, 2011 11:37 am

I want to get out of Shanghai ASAP and I'm going to the train station right now.

But last time I was there they only had standing room for the next 2 days. So, I doubt they will have tickets for tomorrow at the station.

Should I just get the standing tickets? It doesnt look too bad as a lot of those guys sit down on their bags.

Also, can I get a discount for standing or do I need to pay the price of a sitting ticket?

Its Shanghai to Shenzhen so about 18-20 hours I think.

Hey why not? Go for it I say, and make sure you post about your experiences when you arrive.

Yes sure, a standing ticket for 20 hours sounds perfectly nice. Ofcourse you just pay for the sitting ticket price, but you have the privelege to stand up .

Too bad to hear you wont post after you leave, we will not miss your fake posts.

So please dont post on how much luggage was stolen, how many free cups of noodles you got by begging your way through the train and giving hand jobs to Chinese in the bathroom.

CB, did it for a four hour train trip, and that was enough for me! Don't be eluded that you'll be comfortable and have lots of space around you - you will not be the only cheapskate with a 'standing only' ticket.

You've never thanked me for the train info advise I posted, so why am I even bothering? Must be because I'm such a nice person.

Good riddance. Stop posting now. To be honest I post less because your garbage brings down the overall quality of this forum. Some might find your impossible cluelessness to be 'cute', I find it repulsive.

Adios.

Don't forget the diapers. All the standing guys wear diapers.

Yeah, that's when I stopped believing. One blurry picture...come on! And nothing from ChinaBrah about the momentous meeting...not that I've seen anyway.

Sorry, one blurry picture and one censored picture. It was a good joke while it lasted.

Second picture taken when the sun was shining. When were they meeting again?

it's time for students' new term begin , so all the trains are very crowded now, and you can't buy a sitting ticket. the price of sitting ticket is the same as standing ticket.

recommend you to other cities near shanghai, such as nanjing or hangzhou. it's very easy for a native speaker with a white face to find a job there.

18 hours, standing, with migrant workers, chickens and rice bags full of possessions. Sounds like an adventure. You only live once.

What the hell? Why not!

If your money and phone were stolen last night, how did you get the money to post this and a ticket?
