Single Entry Visa / Multi Entry

Postby mango shake » Mon Sep 08, 2008 2:05 pm

Hello,

I currently have a 60 day single entry tourist visa. I entered China circa Thailand on September 1rst, thus initiating my 60 days. I'm staying with a friend who lives here in Shanghai, and we've decided that we wanted to take a couple trips during my stay here. Because my visa is single-entry, however, we would be unable to cross any borders.

My question is this: is it possible to have my visa changed to a 2 or 3 entry visa? I saw that there is an Entry-Exit Bureau in Shanghai, and I assume this is where I would need to go if it is possible.

So, firstly: Is it possible? If so, what information/documents would I need to provide?

I am a US citizen, if that affects anything.

Thanks for any advice or help!

You can cross many borders...just not the one that will get you back to China.
You cannot change your existing visa. But you can apply for another visa if necessary. No guarantees on what they will approve these days though. Good luck.
6 years of experiences, good, bad ugly... and survived.
