Slippers Purchased in China vs USA (Or Other Places)

Postby highlander » Fri Feb 10, 2012 7:28 pm

Just wondering how much difference there is between the slippers found in China (not saying made in China since they are "all" made in China or overseas) vs the ones found in the USA (or other parts of the world)?

I'm originally from Southern California so never used warm slippers before to keep feet worm (also had carpet at home). In the couple years I've been here that I change the slippers pretty much every year. I usually do not have many to choose from (bought last one in Metro...only one in my size). The better ones I've seen online (Amazon.com) usually costs around 20-30 Dollars which is 6 times the average cost I pay here (20-30 RMB) is it still worth purchasing a pair next time I go back in terms of how comfortable they feel and how long they last vs the ones found in China?

depends on what kinda slippers you're looking for, but i've gotten some good life out of padded isotoners (maker of totes, etc.) for slip-on slippers. what's keeping me warm this winter are suede moccasin booties from land's end. likely made in china, but maybe a plus for quality control. the other plus about isotoners, besides the price, is you can find them just about anywhere in the states.

Honestly I don't see a big difference between standard US sleepers and local, unless you can't find your number (which is not an unheard issue as we all know) here or if you are looking something really 'fancy' or special I wouldn't put 'sleepers' in my 'to buy list' next time I go back to civilization.

Said this one of my current set of sleepers in use was bought abroad and is made of lamb skin w/ rubber soles and I'm loving it, but the other one I have in use is just your normal 'chinese hood' type and is fine as well just not as warm.

If you are looking for winter indoor slippers, I found mine at Muji Store. I found them with good quality.
