When I wrote earlier that the Chinese, where I have been based this past 5 yrs, have economic power and buy political power as needed, I meant in the context of going about their business ventures. They pay under the table to get around govt /bureaucratic rules and regulations, but they are not the only ones.

Back to god's OP, I agree with what someone else in the thread mentioned, my observations are that the "sabre -rattling" is regional, long standing and directed to countries like N Korea and Taiwan.

Attorneys would be attracted to politics. Another example of where the "separation of power" gets a bit grey. But it's a chance to make, rewrite, change influence legistation. The entire democratic process, debate and even campaigning favours those with verbal communication skills and in my work I see that high level verbal communication skill does not = higher order (creative) problem solving.

Scroll down the list and it looks like nearly half were lawyers.

When I visited the National Constitution Center in Philly, in 2003, I walked about the bronze sculptures in the Signers Hall exhibit and remember thinking, seems like a lot of lawyers and merchant and also quite young age although then maybe 37 was considered mature (?) at that time.

The only one who was different, by age and profession, Ben Franklin (81 at the time of the signing)-Scientist.
His lifesize bronze sculpture is seated, it is the only one with a polished hand from the numbers of visitors maybe rubbing it out of respect, or for good luck.

Now I'm really beginning to feel a need for proportionate representation of a greater variety of professions.... um, background checks and balances, let alone woman and ethnic minorities.

So, seriously question, WHAT IS NEXT WITH AMERICA ?

1)No countries want to invest to America...

2)No companies wish to hire Americans ..

There are many things about America worth saving!
I think it has lost it's way but do not underestimate it's capacity to re-invent itself. It was the life raft of choice for so many displaced yet brilliant people over the past centuries. The diversity of the gene pool and the various cultures that have coalesced there was generationally the means by which it became great.
Somehow I do not feel China has the answer but to throw money helps the yin/yang of trade.

Yes, you right. But seems most AWFUL PART is what Americans can not afford anymore "American Dream": Income 50k/year, Big Home, 2 Cars, 2 Kids .. etc.. America lost competitive. They performed those lengthly maneuvers in the Yellow Sea for no good reason. The Sea of Japan was open to them, but no, they had to move to China's doorstep so one of their ships (the USS George Washington I think) could check out the main land with surveillance equipment, all while keeping tabs on North Korea.

I mean, there were various other seas they could've moved to. They could've even done the maneuvers on the outer areas of the Yellow Sea, yet the insisted on driving forward until they hit the mainland.
