I always thought that the aversion to another major world war is the desire for major consumerism that much of the world is involved in. People and govt's too caught up in trade/money.
Despite what some people say (in here) about the Chinese. Ethnic Chinese in other countries have more and more economic power, and taking over economically bit by bit. And seems a much more efficient effective way of gaining control.
Where I am at the moment Chinese represtent less than half the population but have 90% of the economic power and can buy policial power as needed.

My two bobs worth. I think that there is not there is not as nationalistic link with China for overseas Chinese as maybe with other diasporas. Many, many fled before 1949 and bagged China for a long, long time and I think the links are alot weaker. For those migrants who are moving to other countries for financial/lifestyle betterment, aren't they shunning China in a way?? Just a thought.....

I was comparing them to Chinese. Look at the size of Israel and China, then look at the numbers Jewish and Chinese politicians.

Granted there were many incidents involved with Chinese an many were racial BUT not the majority. Example many electronic shops in Glodok were owned by Chinese and the entire centre burned NOT for that reason, it was looted then burned.

Chinese businesses should continue do what they do as usual and eventually American (and other) companies will look for other suppliers and China won't be able to export nearly as much as they used to. This will lead to Chinese worker unrest, general strikes will become riots. China will have to be more of a police state and exports will fall to nothing and China will collapse.

Following the collapse of China the US (or anyone else) would not be interested in sending over any invaders to China even if they thought they ever would.
