Studying Chinese - Learning Centers/Universities

Postby Muaddib » Mon Aug 24, 2009 1:04 pm

So I decided a few weeks ago that I wanted to take the Fall to study Chinese here in Shanghai, but realized that admission to Jiaotong, Donghua, Ligong, etc. are already closed.

Does anyone know of any universities that are still accepting students for the Fall semester???

If not, what is the best Chinese language learning centers that will run for 4 months or so and offer a student visa?? Miracle Mandarin at Ligong Daxue on Fuxing Lu?? Or ICEC at Jiaotong??? Mandarin Inn???

I found a list http://www.shanghaiexpat.com/index.php? ... bizpagesby cat&swhere=828 and was just hoping someone who has done one of these programs could give me some positive or negative feedback

be quick ... doing the medical and JWwhatever visa can be 2-3 weeks.

Shanghai International College of Culture.
www.sicccn.com
202 Shaanxi Road (South), Shanghai International College of Culture (3 minute-walk from South Shaanxi Road station, Metro 1, )
Tel: 54030618; 54035731 (fax)

The college offers long-term and short-term language courses (basic and intermediate levels) with 5 to 12 students, which start on every spring (Feb) and every autumn (Sept), with 5 days morning lessons (9:00 am -- 12:15 pm ) from Monday to Friday.

The next semester will start on September 7, 2009 and end in early January, 2010.

The tuition for one semester is 9000 Yuan RMB.

The college also offers one on one study course at different levels, which opens all year round.

I wouldn't let that deter you completely. If you're willing to cough up the tuition, they'd be most likely to make an "exception" if you show up in person.

Hello, I am looking for a program for Fall also. I was thinking of trying East China Normal University. I emailed them and they said that you can show up on Sept 7 or 8 and register for the Fall semester. I think it is 11,000 for the semester, 5 mornings per week. If anyone has attended ECNU, I would love to hear your thoughts on this school....is it a good place to study?

I had never heard of the Shanghai International College of Culture. It is cheaper and more convenient. Does anyone have feedback about this school?

This Benson's marketing course(101) must have been an effective one since it spreads throughout the country... Listen sweet lady(I presume), I think this is the kind of audience that doesn't bother learning at an institute that misspells learning... Or the one that doesn't listen to people who should follow an English course before attempting to reference a Chinese language institute for English speaking people... Or both.
