Suggest ways I can keep the act up at work

Postby LDJS » Tue Feb 14, 2012 11:01 pm

Make em funny if you like.

But man, I need to try to keep the act up at work at my current teaching job in Korea, for the next 9 days at least until payday.

Because I have my job to start next month in Shanghai all sorted, I have become very non commital and rather withdrawn at work. I'm leaving because the recruiter lied abot the job and the school is going down the pan due to bad mangement and dissorganisation.

I have to give 45 days notice but am not going to as my boss screwed the last 2 teachers on their finsishing bonuses and is almost broke as he lost so many students so I feel that if I give the full notice, they'll not pay me for my last month as they know I'll no longer be of use to them. So I'm going to wait until this payday on the 25th of feb and then give them 3 weeks notice, which I doubt I'll get paid for, but don't care as I can afford it and am shorting them on the notice anyhow.

I'm worried it might show in my recent withdrawn attitude at work and my boss might figure out what's up...

I need / want that paycheck this month on the 25th.

I'll make a note that I see on my door each morning telling myself to be super social and commited at work for the next 8 working days I guess.

But yeah, I have to keep the act up or they will tell I'm not really into it any more and might fire me before I get paid.

Good times, good times...

In my mind I'm already there and not here. Oh well, I'll try and be super teacher / worker for the next two weeks.

Anyway this post is only half serious, so offer up your pep talk / tips and tricks for me to keep the illusion of being commited to the place up for the next 8 working days.

A packet of Maxwell house coffee mix and a pack of Dunhill lights for the best / funniest suggestions!

Lol more esl teacher bashing, how original.

come on, have a laugh ffs you bunch of saddos.

I am professional IN CLASS. The kids are fine, so don't lose any sleep over it (though I hope misreable &^%) sticks like you don't have your own kids!)

I am shorting notice on a manipulative and disshonest employer, as he has a history of notpaying last month salaries or bonuses. My ethics are not in question.

And no, I doubt a korean hakwan owner is reading an expat forum in Shanghai....

Christ no wonder the forum is dying, you losers.

Nah I will get my salary, you missed the whole point.

Que surprise!

The only thing you are really laughing at is the delusion of a delusion that is yourself.

Anyhow, let's keep it going! I'm pretty sure this is the only enertainmen and the only socialising you trolls are able to get, so I'll be charitable for ya ;)

See if you can spot the typo here and point it out for 150 self esteem bonus points!!

I didn't miss anything.
Professional teachers work for professional schools.
Unprofessional teachers work for unprofessional schools.
A professional school pays its teacher, so the school you work for is unprofessional, that makes you an unprofessional teacher, or probably somebody that got the chance to teach English because of his white face and US passport.

(I am not spotting any typo, English is my not even my second language)

Well there is a typo dumbass. Lol.

As for your fallacious hypothesis (that's not a sexual act btw) I work for a world renowned International school actually. Just because the manager of one branch is an unscrupulous character, that doesn't automaticaly correlate that I am unprofessional. The same way that if I like cheese and cheese comes from cows milk doesn't mean I am a cow.

See what I did there?

For me to be proven unprofessional you would need a lot more info in order to make the inference. ****, why am I bothering, you probably have no idea what I'm talking about.

Anyway, keep up the delusions, they're all that holds you together these days ;)

Ooo 150 self esteem points. Nice.
Not sure about the maxwell house and dunhill lights though. Dont smoke and am addicted to international roast from my poor university days (for you non-australians you can mimic the taste by getting normal instant coffee dropping it on the floor and getting your dog to roll in it then sweeping up).
Maybe if you had offered self esteem points as the initial prize you would have had more takers.

Good luck in keeping up the act. Smile and work hard, it is not the kids fault that the management is crap. If you are only going to be there a short time more may as well put is some extra effort for the kids you are looking after.

On topic, why give your boss three weeks notice once your pay comes through when you can just walk out the door the second your pay is deposited into your bank account?

Treat him like he treats everyone and watch his business sink.

Nah, not fair on the kids. 3 weeks gives them enough time to hire a new teacher. I'll offer to work it for half pay as I'm giving short notice.
