Just got the note at the Coffee Meeting today that the Coffee Bean at Xintiandi will be shutting down for awhile. No reason why ( sounds like a remodel or change of plan at that location). They have our thanks for hosting us for the years we were going there every Sunday.

in the mean time, we have to come up in new place for the Sunday Coffee Meeting in the next couple days. Open to suggestions.

For now, we need a place with good coffee/drinks, large enough to host 10-20 or more people showing up every Sunday with an area we could sit as a group, centrally located and easily accessed by public transport, brunch type food would be nice or if not, located where there are other restaurants to go out to, for now at least, in Puxi.

Anyone have a suggestion, feel free to let us know. We will be making phone calls tomorrow. The Coffee Meeting next Sunday will be whatever new place we come up with.

Try the Saturday coffee group at Coffee Bean (Zhongshan Park) -- yesterday we were 10 of us -- had coffee, then went out for lunch, then went back for more coffee.

FYI - we made a trek to Egghead Bagels after leaving Coffee Bean yesterday. It was definitely a trek as the address that Google listed is wrong! Good place and good food. Owner is a nice guy. But I don't think the place is big enough to fit the Sunday group along with their regular weekend morning business.

There is a Coffee Bean (I think) next to Kakadu, within walking distance of Taikang Lu line(?). Not sure about trains but I see a line entry exit on Taikang Lu.

Kakadu do good coffee too what about there and ask James about coffee brunch options for members.

Or back to the original location....
There are plenty of other cafe options in XTD so why not just select a different place there. Personally I like it because the area allows people options of things to do, before and after the meeting.

McDonalds on TYQL is really convenient.

Sometimes they have murders there, but I can't promise that kind of entertainment every week.

Just a thought, Malone's (Tongren Lu) is pretty convenient to a couple of metro lines, is very big and has a Sunday morning brunch special

Given the XTD is abundantly supplied with various dinning and cafe options and is on a convenient rail line, why change from that location? It is very convenient.
Just change the venue there.

I see the main issue being the same as with Egg head bagels , most places not big enough.
If we stay at Xintindi i think Starbucks is the only option all tghe other places too expensive .
ZP coffee bean not big enough for sunday group and a different location is needed both days .
Dunkin Donuts Shimen Yi lu always empty and big enough

Donut King Nanjing road Jingan has a big down stairs room they will let you use if you ask as long as people are buying coffee and donuts thats ok

Failing all else we meet at XTD same place at 12 pm then en masse invade the nearset empty location

After sereval phone calls with Coffee bean's mangers, we are going to move to another coffee bean, the one in Sinan Masion.
We just heard from bunch of people talk about Sinan Masion and some of them tell us we should think about that area, so after another discussion,maybe we could try to hold our Sunday coffee meething there!

Sinan Mansion is a good location option.
Some nice new things happening there like ChiCha restaurant.
It is finished but developing and not all the businesses are full yet so I guess from their point of view hosting Shexpat coffee meeting will help market the area.
