Super Mario Galaxy (WII)

Postby Dazza » Wed Oct 31, 2007 10:43 pm

Managed to pick up a leaked copy as it is not due out till the 12th November anyhow after a quick update on the WII the game does not load.

error 001 unauthorized device has been detected. Which probaly means it can detect the modchip in my machine.

Anyhow Just a warning for those that want to buy it now, and no it didn't bugger up the machine all the other games play as normal.

Just had a look around on the newsgroups and got this info.

It wont work with WiiKey, there is an update for the Cyclowiz firmware though.
The disk has new protection on it and Wiikey are aware of it and looking at a fix.
You can find out more on www.wiikey.cn
However the disk image is for real.

As mentioned in the NFO, Super Mario Galaxy uses a new type of copy protection. Cyclowiz has released a patch that will let Cyclowiz mod chip users run the game. D2Ckey mod chips work with no patch. The WiiKey team has announced that they're working on a fix, but (at the time of this post) have yet to release it. So keep an eye on their site for the patch, which hopefully will be released soon.
With the way that current mod chips work, it doesn't seem like patching the game itself will provide a method of getting around the protection. The change has to come from the chip itself.

So if you are like me with a WIIkey ur **** for now.
