Does anyone know where I can find Tai Chi classes, preferably in the Jing An District? I've searched on ShExpat forum threads, but the once seem popular Wu Yi Guan and www.chinamartialarts.com are closed. Also, after working hours and weekend classes are preferred. Thanks in advance, hope someone can provide more information.

try some of those dvd sellers... you may find a tai chi cd in there somewhere... if you don't mind learning from a dvd that is..

Don't they do it in parks early in the morning? Long ago (at least 6 years) I saw a group doing ballroom dancing alongside another doing taichi on a certain segment of pedestrian of HuaiHai Lu... something like 6 or 7 am....

It was during one of my first visits to Shanghai... thought it was quite a sight...

Hmm, thanks for the suggestions, guys. I'm asking about these Tai Chi classes for an expat friend. He prefers to go to classes after work, and close to where he works and lives, in JingAn district. I thought that maybe there would be classes with that kind of schedule and location tageting expats. Oh well, I think learning from a DVD would be a good idea if he's too lazy to get up early in the morning for the park.
