has anyone had experience of taking beer/soft drinks/ food to the F1 race? I went to the DTM in Pudong last year and even had my water confiscated at the entrance. I don't fancy carrying stuff to the F1 and having it taken off me again

I know the tickets say no beer and no unopened soft drinks (bang goes the home made JD & Coke) but are they strict about this? Do they search your bags?

You'll get a couple in via your pockets, jacket etc... They search MOST bags.

I brought in a 5L barrel of Heinieken 2 years ago...I've been several times (not last year) and I never had any problems

Hmm, I think i'll take a couple of beers. If they say i can't take it in, i guess i'll just have to drink it before i get in.

Trust me, you CANNOT take alcohol in.

Food and water etc.. ok. NO booze, unless of course you sneak in your hip flask.

^ or have big pockets and a booze bus in the parking lot from which to fill them with.....

As I said, I went to the circuit and took a 5liters barrel with me. There was no problem at all, we even access with one beer in our hands...
