We'll be opening the first bottle at JustBeer HQ in about 37.5 minutes.

Then after we are well on our way to being cut, we'll head up to The Camel. Probably about 6'ish.

Just returned from the camel - popped in for a swift pint and I must say, it was a great.....loads of people, fun atmosphere....it actually reminded me a lot of an English Yates' or something similar (i.e. large space, big bar, shed loads of people) minus the chavs, plus a heap of tv's. Wondering if there's just one large screen which shows the big events, similar to O'Malleys? Anyway, it was great in there and hoping it continues as per tonight! Great work.

Was a good night.

Staff were suprisingly on top of things. Well done!!

Lights need to be dimmed down, and some heavy set guy is going to lose one of those very small bar stools up his bum crack, but the place will go ok.

Lot's of TV screens and cold beer.

Sweeeeeet.

Was there last night before dinner. Went smoothly enough for a soft opening.

Think the lighting was a tad too bright (probably didnt have the dimmers in action), but the most important thing was that the beers were cold.

service was good. the beers were cold, the music was really good, the free snacks soaked up the copious amounts of beer we consumed and there was not one freeloader in sight. nice pub, liked it a lot

Was there again yesterday for a few sherberts. TV's nearly in full working order. The big ol' VB DartBoard should be up this week.

Found out last night that their TV feed also has the Aussie free to air stations, so Thursday night footy show screenings are on the cards. AWESOME.

I think maybe they even get the Australian Horse racing. hmmmm, might have to dust the bookies hat off.

I visited The Camel on friday; Vibes are good; it's different from nearby O' Malleys and Oscar', bar is huge; plenty of tv screens, pool, darts. Attentive and friendly staff(I got the feeling there are many managers walking around...) And the good thing ist he venue is not selling clothes anymore :)

A huge beer list; they sell Carlsberg Pints for 25 rmb, not sure about their daily happy hour deal. Nice Music was played by a dj.

One bad thing; they were serving snack food and it was really bad; bland&tasteless onion rings, chicken nuggets, fries, all horrible.....I do hope the 'real' food will be much better than this crap.

my friends and me were also there on friday, it was a nice bar, we didnt have beer so we cannot say if it was nice and cold etc but the gin and tonics were nice.
The music was very good, some pop, some rock etc, the service was quick and they look happy and smily. lights were bright but it was his first day so maybe they look at this problme later.
This bar will be the best bar when world cup starts

25 RMB for a pint of Carlsberg is very good indeed. Is this place going to be like Walkabout in the UK? I hope not!

i was there last night for the rugby. had a great time, despite England and Scotland getting beaten. The 25RMB Calsbergs went down a storm. I didn't feel the lighting was too bright, so maybe they've sorted that already. Service was excellent, not too pushy but arriving just as the last dregs were leaving the glass

And it was nice to be in a bar full of ex-pat blokes and no Chinese "ladies" offering their services. I daresay they will come soon enough....

All in all a cracking venue

Why are you heathens drinking Carlsberg when there are perfectly good beers on offer by the bottle at 25rmb. Plus i spent a week on those bloody tent cards there, and look at what Carlsberg showed up with!

Bottles are 375ml, not pints.

Yeah, shots at 25rmb is a killer. Walrus was knocking down the 25rmb Sambuccas yesterday.

Went on Saturday, not into openings. The atmosphere was really good and easy to be able to see the games. Like the big screen and the little one in the gents. Didn't like the comment from one punter about "how good it was to piss on the English"

The place looks good but needs to have sports stuff on the walls, bigger than I thought and should be great for the World Cup. Service was ok but need a few more girls who speak English.

Will see what the food is like when they do a proper menu but must agree that the fried food was not great (not much is) but at least it was free.

Think this was a problem on the opening night, but seems all good now.

The 25 RMB shots are great.

Some of the staff were giving me shots for 25, then others for 40. I know on the list of 'Camel Shots' [which are 25 RMB] straight up sambuca isn't there. So I think, technically, its a 40 RMB shot.
