The Lovely Bones (Book recommendation)

The lovely Bones by Alice Sebold

This was one of the best books I've read in a while. And would strongly recommend it to you all. Could not stop reading it this entire weekend. I'm not really much of a book reviewer/reporter but here is a brief summary of what the book is about.

"I was fourteen when I was murdered on December 6, 1973." This is the second sentence of the first chapter and from the beginning you are captivated by the story of Susie Salmon, a young girl that was brutally murdered one day taking a shortcut home through the cornfields. Susie goes up to heaven and the story continues with her life in Heaven (which is actually an interesting version of what heaven is like that the author has created) as well as her looking down on her family, friend and accquantances as the years go by and how they go on with their lives and never quite get over her death.
why not take your damn orange juice and use it as an enema.

I read that about a year or two ago and enjoyed it but found it more depressing than liberating. Was a sad story. But loved the way in which it was told. Definitely something that people should read!
