The search has begun....feedback on pudong compounds

Time flies, and our move date has been fixed and we're in the process of narrowing down the area we want to live in.

Would appreciate if fellow expats living in the following compounds could provide any feedback, good or bad.

Century Garden Apartments浦东世纪花园
Lujiazui Central Gardens(The Crescent)陆家嘴中央公寓
Yanlord Town仁恒河滨城
Shimao Lakeside Gdn世茂湖滨花园

Tomson Garden汤臣豪园 - 松涛路
Palm Spring Garden棕榈泉花园

We are looking at a place with 3-4 bedrooms and around 250sqm+/-. Could be apartment or townhouse or villa, doesnt matter. Most important would be security and proximity to YCIS at Dongxiu Rd. Is rental going down in Pudong? Will a budget of RMB20k be sufficient?

If there's any other compounds worth looking at, please feel free to recommend. We don't really need to live in totally expat environment.

Thank you in advance. :D

We've lived in Yanlord Town for over two years now and really like it. It's close to Thumb plaza, has a city shop right in the complex, a club house that has a cheap salon and killer foot massages, close to YCIS, and has a good mix of locals and foreigners. The grounds are great for kids to play in...and it's very stroller friendly if you have small ones. Anyways, we really like it.

Hi Spencer, thanks for yr reply. My husband has already fallen in love with Yanlord Town (location and exterior) after just passing by there. But my concern is, the compound is HUGE! They have what? 25 blocks?? am I right? How many club house and facilities do they have to accommodate so many pple? I just cannot imagine the sight of the pools during the summer time. Would you be able to share some insight into the compound just to calm my fears? the man looks set to just view units in this compound. sigh...
