Tomson Garden or nearby

Postby fear_n_trembling » Wed May 04, 2005 1:17 pm

We are moving to Shanghai soon. However our rent allowance is not that big. I will be working in/near Zhangjiang (sp?) Tech Park in Pudong so the most convenient place to live seems to be Tomson Garden. It seems quite nice but there are a lot of empty places there. Does anyone know anything about this group? I know it's quiet but we quite like that. As we will stay up to 5 years a colleague suggested we might think about buying but it seems from my research that it's pretty much bubble time for prices. Any comments on either of these aspects would be appreciated.

Hello "fear",

Tomson Garden has nice looking new properties, however the development isn't ideal for everyone. In my experience it attracts younger business people without kids, who have cars or drivers. Most of our clients with kids prefer the more open spaces that exist in other developments.

Since the useable sqm of apartments and townhouses can be strikingly similar, it might be a good idea for you to check out the apartments within the Tomson villa complex, Seasons, Green Court which are somewhat in the area.

The other benefits of these other locations are a slighlty better community feel between expats, improved facilties and (depending upon which property you select in Tomson Garden) less highway noise.

Drop me a note if you need recommendations or feel free to post if you have any questions.

Fear-n-trembling: Listen to Michael (MPV). He knows what he's talking about and gets my endorsement as the most knowledgeable about real estate in Shanghai.

This gentleman has a 3 bedroomed, 2 bathrooms condominium at Tomson Golf, to rent out. It's excellent value for money at only $1,100 per month. Contact him :
Mr Tianen Zhao : 13816137446. Good luck ..
