If you contact the Turkish Consulate they will give you details of a Social Group. The Consul General and his wife are delightful and very active folk. They have really connected you guys better than before.

The only Turkish place I know at the moment is Anadoulu, over by the clubs on Hengshan Lu. Suits me fine for a 3am nosh but it seems like more of a post-party joint. I've never noticed if they serve proper tea in a glass Turkish style. There are some spots around town where you can indulge in Shisha. Mostly pan-arabic places or catering to westerners. Shanghai is in dire need of an injection of Istanbullu style and sophistication.
