These things happen. We all thought you are the one with the Guanxi?

so what if they take it down. My satellite guy told me the dish costs less than 100 rmb and that if it is taken down he will get me a new one for no more than a 100 rmb. I wouldn't get too worried about any of these notices. Take it easy.

FYI its now possible to deal with an authorised DREAM satellite agent or reseller outside of the Philippines. before they were ALL unauthroised agents even some would swear black and blue in the face that they were legal DREAM agents... i know better...

anyway there were the pirates... and some others charging far more, and claiming not to be pirates... names with-held.

finally its possible to buy a DREAM system (not including dish and cabling or installation etc) from Philsatcorp go see www.dream.co.ph

heres my experience

ordered a new satellite set top box online through philsatcorp. paid online using paypal and my cc. got the standard paypal notification, then had several emails from Jim also an email plus phone call from customer service (philsatcorp) asking if new box had arrived (which it hadn't after a week plus) and was told to expect it in another couple of days. it arrived two days later, plugged it in, had a simple issue with having to setup/match the LNB settings of the decoder with my dish, but no biggie as Jim called me (more than once) direct from Taiwan to help me with editing the settings. once that was completed, its been working fine ever since. clearer picture, no loss of transmission.. so all cosy in my lounge...
so for any doubters out there... its all quite ok. Glad i was able to get a new box at the discounted price... and not before time!

good luck!!!
45-50wpm w 3-5% error rate. i apologise now for my typos. - damn butter fingers :P

Yeah, well if Dream charged say, US$6 per month, I'd happily pay but that SH. local pr*ck that I contacted about a legit box & dish quoted something just completely outrageous.

I'll stick to my 1200 kuai setup and not get worked up by "No Right" outages. I've got a 50cm high stack of unwatched DVDs to take up the slack.

My, if the Sat TV gestapo started those nasty tactics in Suzhou, there'd be hell to pay. Of course, I could just put the dish INSIDE, because, believe it or not, satellite signals apparently pass through glass and curtains *rather easily*.
It's time I got a real job in China ! Coming here was career destruction - but that's about to change. Push your luck at http:\\www.lucky-jamieson.com

yeah right the early bird price was RMB2000 with a new decoder 12 month subsciption. So outrageous. Now it's 3000rmb.

But hey, you keep those dvd collections handy.

Do you think any provider can charge US$6 per month and expect to stay in business? Sheesh

Eventually if Dream migrates to N3, then sooner or later the cheaper alternatives will be available.

In the mean while just google DREAMBOX. The information may come handy later and continue to enjoy your Dream while it lasts.

If you are looking for sports, then i would suggest the following;

1. TVANTS

2. SOPCAST

3. TVUPLAYER

(in the same order of priority)

The muppetry of the Chinese Government never ceases to amaze me.

The fact is if Sat TV were illegal, it should have never gotten to this stage. Typically there is a rule made.. then not enforced.. then a big load of shiiiat to deal with the resulting mess.

The face issue of this place is nothing short of astounding.

On a separate note.. Kicking out all the students over the summer.. wait a go China Govt.. how can we improve the country for the Olympics? I know kick out all the students who have spent time and money to help evolve this place from it's 5000 years of history.. honestly what reasonable logic could there be??????????
