Visa Advice- switching from F visa to tourist (L) visa

Postby NicoleinSH » Sat Apr 17, 2010 2:55 pm

Greetings,

I just wanted to double check things as I've heard they're really cracking on Visas during the Expo period.

I origionally came on an F visa to work in SH for a 6-month internship and have renewed my F visa 3 times (each one good for 3 months) Now I'm heading to HK and planning on just getting an L Visa to come back to SH and look for work and travel.

Can anyone see any issues with this?

Many thanks,
NicoleinSH

Should be no issues at all. I don;t imagine that the visa rules will be as strict for the expo as they were for the Olympics. One thing though, if you come on a tourist visa I think you may have problems changing it to a business visa in mainland China. So, just to give yourself a little bit more flexibility I would advise you to get a business visa in HK and then return to Shanghai where our favourite visa agent Magic can help you to extend it if need be.
