Visas for Taiwanese...

Postby dalc87 » Wed Sep 21, 2005 9:59 pm

Does anyone know the facts about how to get a visa for taiwanese?

Once you get your Tai Bao Zheng, you can now get a 1 year multiple entry visa pretty easily and a 5 year multiple entry, if you have invested in China...(purchased property etc...)

Do these visas allow you to work in China, or you have to get another visa for that?

i think it is the other way around. first you need to get a job offer. with that, you can apply for a work permit (gong zuo zheng).

you can then apply for a multiple entry visa with your work permit.

Thanks for your replies, I currently have a 1 year multiple entry visa, but was wondering if this allows me to work in china? What I know so far is that Taiwanese can actually get a visa right after landing at the pudong airport that is valid for 3 month, and then they can extend it for a 1 year. But I haven't been able to find out if this visa allows me to work or not? Do taiwanese have to get a working visa, like a Z visa for foriegners?

Dundee, what's the different between a work permit and a Z visa? I was under the impression that the Z visa was your work permit...

you got me. the best way is to call the immigration bureau (chu ru jing guan li ju). but to the best of my knowledge, a taiwanese gets a gong zuo zheng and i know nothing about Z visa. they could be the same.

thanks, I'll try again and give the immigration bureau a call. I've tried several times in the past but it seems they are always busy and wont pick the phone up... oh well...
