I just finished Remains of the Day as well, and like all of his books- it left my floored.
Ishiguro's my favourite writer, hands down.

Just started "Saturday" by Ian McEwan, first time I've read one of his books, the style is great so far

Nothing to Fear - Lessons in Leadership from FDR by Alan Axelrod.

A really simple book to read, money for old rope if you like but it does contain some interesting quotes from Roosevelt's speeches before and during the War.
Holla, ye pampered jades of Asia! What, can ye draw but twenty miles a day?

Re-discovered the magic of "The Selfish Gene" by R Dawkins ...a serious read though. On lighter side I recommend "Amulet of Samarkand" - its actually meant for children, but the footnotes make a great read for all ages :-)
