What is there to do on the internet?

Dicussions on computers, internet, mobile phones, email and the other gadgets that we deal with day to day.

What is there to do on the internet?

Postby *CheerLeader*Mao » Fri Jan 04, 2008 9:17 pm

Is there anything to do on the internet besides read some news, post on SHEX, or download?

I know, I know...fluffy....but other than that what is their really to do.

I am thinking about giving up my computer for a while and watching TV or something. The internet is getting boring for me.

Just wondering if people have any other ideas?

You can always game, learn things (in depth) about subjects that you are interested in, research business ideas or investments - between learning, having fun and making money - there isn't too much more you 'should' do with the internet.

Tired of those things, join a gym and start perfecting the human machine.

Between improving the mind, the body, the soul and 'entertainment' - what else is there ?

You can try some point and click games, some are very annoying. Go to www.lazylaces.com

Go on other forums.
Talk to your friends on messenger.
www.break.com
digg
youtube
ummmm or just go and do something else outside, or watch tv or read a book.

I feel you pain CLM. I'm off the internet most days as I have a sex addiction which keeps my hands full most of the time. Try it.

Same thing. Both ways will have you smiling.

On a side note, I was out of bed at 04:50 this morning. Hmm, ponder.

Here's an idea: make a list of 20 or 30 things you're really interested in learning more about - say: UFOs, properties of water, taxes, new laws, crime statistics, etc.

After you have a decent list of things you really want to know more about, take a week and comb the internet for as much information as you can about each topic - should take about a week per topic to wade through the bs out there and the good stuff. Become the expert on that subject, then move on to another. My sister and I used to play this game when we were younger only with encyclopedias (starting with A and moving through the letters) and then going to the library once a week to get a few books on whatever we were trying to learn. After a while it became a cool game to find facts and impress your friends / family / etc. with how 'smart' you really are. The world is full of information, are you ? ;)

Its funny you wrote this actually as I went to check out the Melbourne State library today....maybe its called the victoria state library actually. Anyway, i just wanted to see it and look at some books and areas and see if it sparked my interest and if they had modern reading material.

I could ramble about what i looked up, cosmology, genetics and astrology but I won't bore anyone now.

The interesting part was this:

80% of the people were Asian, about 65% of them women....and some dangerously hot ones I must say.

So get this, someone tell me if this is strange.

I picked up a few magazines and journals, sat at an empty table. A couple of nice young Asian girls came and sat by me. There was some smiles and hellos, nothing major, i figured I would put the grove on a bit later as it was near closing and I thought I would just see if one of them wanted to go get some juice after. We read for about 25minutes and I had to take a dump.

So I left to go to the toilet, came back 10 min later and the girls are gone. Missed my chance obviously, but get this.....in my seat....i had left 3 magazines at my chair along with a bottle of water and now some Chinese dude is sitting there and twitching his legs nervously and looking at at me.

And the dick is reading the Harvard Business Review I was reading. Rather he is flipping through it.

I don't know, I don't even care really, but I just found it interesting.

Doesn't he know that I am going to go back there tomorrow now, pick up a couple of the girls and fcuk the living sh1t out of them to teach that little prick a lesson?

Everything i could write in a blog would only cause me problems.
And yes we havent chatted for sometime. A couple weeks anyway.

Trends? The only ones i am interested in our electronics and even then i am not too fussed.

Today i went and played games on Orbitz.com. There was this cool home run baseball game and I thought i was pretty good scoring 3000 points or so.
Then i looked at the top scores of 100000+ and realized this will never be my thing.

The shuffleboard one isnt too bad either.

I think i will have to spend more time writing a book. I have 3 to write so i should get on it before i forget everything.
