Actually tonight: pan fried fish fillet with tabasco and hunan chilies, steamed carrot flavoured w/ parsley, basil and oregano, on white rice. The carrot texture was a little dry (perhaps a bit too much condiment) but had a good, subtle taste, complementing the tartness of the pepper & chili of the fish.First time i tried both the fish, and in this way.

My Sichuan Nai Nai cooked us some Chicken strips with sweet peppers, potato & pork stew and sweet marinated beef slices. Wow, that was 3 different meats, way to go Nai Nai!

Roasted butternut squash (in skin but split) brushed with a balsamic and honey glaze.

Foie gras and fresh porcini raviolis cooked briefly in chicken broth and served with a drizzle of aceto balsamico di Modena. Very fast and easy and goes down great with a glass of sauternes.

Steak & mushrooms panfried in butter
Salad with feta and olive oil

Did not even cook this, feeling lazy and not hungry

Portuguese Sardines, mustard, cheddar cheese and French bread....fishy but damn good with a bottle of Aussie Pinot

If that is all you made it sounds pretty gross actually texture wise. All mush no bite. And whats with the balsamic on the ravioli? You have weird taste dude.

Tonight I made spaghetti bolognese with a pan fried breaded veal chop, and a side caesar salad (with the raw egg yolk and anchovies) with heirloom tomatoes. Dusted everything with fresh grated parmesan.

On Sunday 25.3.12, made Cabbage Rolls in Tomato base, for the first time; a vegetarian mixture.

Grilled salmon head/ belly. sprinkled with black pepper, garlic powder and cumin for taste...
Served with Lemon wedges, and a butter/salt/garlic dip.....soft bread with some good Aussie white.

I know your post was in march..but it sounded so delicious. May I suggest that you use balsamico crema instead. It adds a different tanginess to the foiegras...drooling...

I boiled noodles, plus those fish, meat ballies which i bought from fresh mart at JA. Drained em of excess water and mixed it with a combo of leekumkee sauce.

Yum yum & cheap.

I made a veggie version of "Pillekuchen" last night, which is basically fried potatoes with onions & dried tomatoes (substitute for bacon) and a pancake dough on top.

We did have an unexpected dinner guest too - an elderly Chinese neighbour that had lost her front door keys. Surprisingly she liked the food (was a little suspicious of the dried tomatoes though ) and was very pleased with our herbal tea too.

^that's really nice of you to "house" your neighbour. Glad she enjoyed the food.

Medea is a very kind soul, and looks after homeless animals.

We had a hell of a party last night with great servings of nonya spicy laksa, delicious braised chicken, roasted chicken, spicy shrimp and kangkong, spicy sweet assam pork and bubur chacha.

Drinks (ofcourse!) inclusive: Singapore Sling, our expired german barrel of beer, Asahi Dry, Makgeolli,Whisky..and I think no one asked for water...
