Where can I rent a bike for cheap?

Where can I rent a bike for cheap?

Postby Boxer_Rebellion » Fri Jun 05, 2009 5:14 pm

Want to go bike riding this weekend, if it stops raining. Heard I can rent a bike for 80 rmb a day. Anywhere I can rent one for cheaper than this?

Or would I be able to find a decent used bike to buy at that price?

You can buy a new one for 300rmb....or less.

Register for this free bike rental program, you get a card and can pick up one of these orange coloured forever bikes. Now still mainly in Minhang, but the program is spreading fast. 1st hour is free, next 3 hours 1 RMB/hour and a little bit more afterwards. But keep in mind, if you lose the bike, you don't only lose the deposit, but also your membership

Would also like to know more about this... what is the deposit? ...where you get a membership? Would be helpful if anyone had this information.

They do have a website, but it is only in Chinese:
http://www.chinarmb.com/

Cheers.

No deposit needed. It is now mainly in Minhang and Baoshan District. You have to get a membership first. You have to use to give a copy of passport/house rental contract , it is really not easy to do so.

It was posted above that chinesermb.com wasn't in English, but there is (now anyway) an English page:

But yeah, I admit, it is not very helpful! I still am looking for how to get a card to do this.
