Postby R&B » Tue Nov 06, 2007 1:40 pm

Hi,

I bought some at YuYuan a couple years ago for my nephew. Obviously fake. Not even run on a regular press.. but had a film of the graphic pressed onto a card which peeled off. If you are expecting something for real ( like as a collector ) be careful.

I see the Pokemon decks at all the markets - like the Science and Technology Museum Market in Pudong. I got mine at a market in Pudong Times Square (next to the McDonalds - can't remember what its called).

We paid 35 RMB for a cellophane wrapped package of 100 cards which my 8 and 6 yr old boys were plenty happy with. Not sure if that was a good price or not but I figured for about $4 I wasn't risking much.

I'm pretty sure Toys 'r Us at SuperBrand Mall in Lu Jia Zui has the real deal if that is what you mean.

I was quoted 15Y for a trading pack at S&T Museum Market just a couple of days ago. I was surprised to find that Toys 'r Us doesn't have them - just the "action" figures.

It was a small toy shop just inside from the metro station - very close to KFC.

I saw some in the Hong Qiao Pearl market - they have some kids' toys shops - try there.

My 10 yearold has not found "Real" pokemon cards here in 4 months. All of the ones from the markets (Yu Yuan, Science Technology...) are fake, so if the kid takes his game serious, won't work.

To give you a price point, in the US at WalMart brand new real packs of 9 cards are from $3 to $4 depending on the series.

I saw some in the very small toy shop (about 5 square meters) on Jian Guo xi Lu near Rui Jin Er Lu. About RMB10?

Interesting thing we found, is one store in Jin Qiao near Trek store, had the cards in the actualy foil packing, but even they were not 'real', but fake/knock offs.

R&B, we got our Pokemon cards from RongFu next to Times Sq at Pudong. However, that place looks very deserted lately, probably raided. It's one of those shops that sells game boy cartridges. We were just trying our luck and the guy went off to get them. Cellophane-wrapped, probably fake, but good enough for a 6year old.
