After reading the posts and your repeated asking, I'd like to advise, if you're not taking the piss.

My advice? Don't bother (for the reasons listed above), but some expats have hit it lucky. It's possible. If you want to risk it, don't speak to women in bars, and ask your female colleagues if they have single friends. If, when you take them out for dinner and they offer to pay half, ask them out again....

depends what you are looking for. You say normal = not a whore so does that mean you want a friend only to talk with or someone you hope will one day sleep with or marry you? Local = from China but in China there are many, just like my mother, who think if the person is not from the same area she is from then they are foreigners. I know she accused my 1st (Chinese) boyfriend of being a foreigner. A shock for her years later when I marreid a real foreigner hahaha

One thing I've learned about human relationships over the years:

The kind of people you attract most often- that is often a reflection of your own character.

For example: if the only girls you are meeting are whores, you're probably not the greatest guy in the world yourself.

The "where" in this question is irrelevant. It's the "who am I?" that you must find the answer to.
