Anyone taken the plunge and tried the USA version of Smash Brothers yet on their Jap wii? I've not seen any reports confirming it working or otherwise.

Also, it seems it's now possible to play Super Mario Galaxy in English with a Japanese system. I just wish I'd not already finished it in Japanese...

I havent tried but this could be great! It looks like I will need to DL the games rather then buy them which is annoying but if I can play SMG (and therefore other games like this) it is worth it.

What DVDRs do peopel use with their Wiis?

Ive only used Ritek DVD+R in the past with no problems. Verbs are ok too Just make sure you burn them at around x4

Still downloading the games I want - ssbs smg - just wondering which is the latest japanese game to buy to update my firmware. When I got my wii they put the japanese SMG in to update the firmware but htat was at christmas so I am guessing there mus t be a new one

Its a big headache to me. I have a japanese version. I bought SMG in JAPANESE and it doesn't work it gives me that 001 error.

I just bought the super smash brothers brawl it did some kind of updating thing and another kind of error came up.

I really think I'm getting cheated. I mean you buy the Wii to play games like these and because china is always imitating instead of innovating you lose out.

I would love to buy the REAL version of either copy but where to find it?

I wish someone would tell me how to make these games work. I guess its my wii key any suggestions? or am I royally f-cked?

Did you buy your wii here? I would just take it back to where you got it - the actual console is pretty small and the shops i go to always have people bringing their's back.

But I do wish I could find an online guide that says - you have a japanese wii and want to play english language games you need to do this.....

BTW do you know what version of the wiikey you have? I think it needed to be updated to play SMG to 1.9 or something

Can't play the English smash on japan version. I got mariogalaxy and super smash to work on my japanese console im sooooo happy and I have chains of olympus for god of war just came out yesterday for psp. sooooooooooo good
