Wow!!! - Shanghai Properties - Rental Agents

Postby andrewec1123 » Sat Aug 15, 2009 9:22 am

I just want to add (yet another) ringing testimonial to the service offered by Shanghai Properties. ( http://www.shanghaiprops.com ) For those of you as new to Shanghai rental market as we were, you *need* a good agent to maneuver the system.

We were in a terrible pinch a month ago, needing to move in about four days before a trip home. Adrienne immediately added us to her full plate, calling properties right away. She then arranged for her assistant Betty to help us view apartments the next day. Betty was fantastic, walking about in the heat and translating every detail. Her knowledge, communication skills and attitude were so reassuring. Our first move in Shanghai was very scary, especially with no time to think, but Adrienne and Betty helped us get through it.

I highly recommend Adrienne and Betty. It's been a month since they helped us, but as soon as we got home, I wanted to sign up and post their praises. We found them through this forum, where they have been praised up and down, and they deserve every good word. Beyond just working hard, it's clear that they really care about helping the expat community.

Yeah, Andrew, I heard about your dilemma, and good that you had a happy result.
I have known Betty for more than 5 years, and she is quite special.
Often her R/E work goes way beyond the call of duty.
She has just started with Adrienne, but should add a great deal to the business.

Only if you're looking for high-end accommodation, right?

NO. Betty is able to serve HER OWN client base, which is under the 7,000/ RMB month level.
p.m. me your email for some good information to help you.

Based on my experience with Adrienne, if she has hired someone then you can bet she'll be quite good. If not, a tiny Australian foot would get buried in her arse!

Andrewec1123! Thank you so much for the kind words on myself and our hard working little sunshine, Betty Liu. We were glad to hlep you out of the terrible pickle that you found yourself in and good that things were finally sorted out.

@endjai - we do realize that the GFC has affected one and all and that the need for lower end accomodation is growing so I have all my staff out this week, pounding the streets and knocking on doors, looking for some good lower end housing to add to our database.

Well, I hope I am not quite that tough with my staff but I try to keep certain standards and ongoing training is essential to keep this up. Maybe a few "What the h......" is more my style. :D

Welcome back from SUMMER/WINTER HOLIDAYS one and all 8)

Cheers,
Adrienne

John.
Well, I called her two times, e-mailed her three times when me and my girlfriend where moving (filled in the form that you sent me, John), got the answer every time that she was going to help us find a place and would get back to us... Never called me back. So I have no positive things to add about my experience with Betty when she is on her own. The decent thing, if you are too busy or can't find one, AT LEAST call back and say so. Seems that other people have had better experience with her so I am happy for them but I've felt the time I put in to explain what I wanted and try and keep contact with her when our moving out date was closing in was totally wasted.

OBS, I just want to point out that my complaints have nothing to do with Shanghai Properties! My budget was too small for that, but have gotten great tips from Adrienne anyway, if I need a place in that price range I would definitely use their services.

Chrisse: Well if you had let me know, I would have sorted it, as my neck was on the line too. (Although you shouldn't need to)

I have told Betty many times, it is necessary to keep in touch. even if there is nothing much to offer at the time.
The last thing people need or want to hear is SILENCE.
This is just basic good business practice.

I am disappointed if this is what happened to you, and Betty will hear from me.
I think this was about the same time she had a rather bad accident, but no excuse.
