Not bullsh*t. My hotmail account has been hacked 4 times since I came to China. Bloody pain in the arse! They do it to get acess to you contacts (new accounts don't come with contacts you know) and the recipients will be more likely to click any included links as they are familiar with your address.

Rabbit, i only can say you: i have ~30 email accounts and 1 anti-virus program.
No one was "hacked", "hijacked", "stolen", "robbed", etc..

RB, don't assume I'm a moron. I know what happens after several unsuccessful tries to log in.

Once again, you're ignoring the fact that there are hundreds of millions of hotmail accounts out there. Some have undoubtedly been cracked despite the "three wrong tries and you're shut out" provision.

And hotmail is more amenable to this because people feel free to use it on shared computers. I'm sure I don't need to say any more to an intelligent guy like you.

Basic hacker 101:

Not long time ago, on e-mule, you could download a DIY file on how to take over a pc, and incidentally hacking a hotmail account, by sending a file to somebody to get his/her IP address at the exact moment, and using the remote function to take over.

Btw, there were also evil movies done by a russian hacker to deface websites, break into merchants websites, etc... but the guy was too fast...and well, he was speaking russian :party::
