Shanghai delivery getting better!

Shanghai delivery getting better!

Postby neverboring » Fri Aug 19, 2011 2:01 pm

Ordered beer for after work drinks this morning from Cheers-in online (www.cheers-in.com). Bought 10 total - a few Chimay Blues, Brewdog IPAs, Deliriums, Duchesses, and a few other tripels. Selected 12 PM - 1 PM delivery, day of.

Got to my house in Jing'An at 12:30 on the dot.

This afternoon, ordered Nosh (www.noshdelivery.com). Salmon sammich, OJ. Was at my office in 15 minutes. Flawless execution, and delicious. Watch out Element Fresh!

Loving these new delivery options here, though I may be at risk of becoming a hermit!

Never heard of them. Website looks great, menu looks very good. Will try that next week.

Had Subway delivered today via Sherpas. 30 mins.

Superb seeing Brewdog beers in Shanghai at last. I'm planning to try a pint or two of the 5AM Saint at Kaiba this weekend.

Yep, the 5am is sensational.

I spoke to them a year or so ago about importing. Just too expensive for what JustBeer does.

Nosh's food is excellent. On par with Element Fresh at probably 2/3rds of the price. My office is down the street so I'm in range; think they're building out their delivery zone soon though.

I'm waiting for Sink the Bismarck. Their Hardcore IPA is delicious - probably similar to a Racer 5 from the States.

You won't get the Sink the Bismark here. I tried their Tactical Nuclear Penguin (previous world record most alcohol beer). You have to drink it like whisky.

50 euro a BOTTLE as well!

I'm scared to imagine how much Sink the Bismarck would go for in Shanghai!

They only made 500 bottles, they don't export it. Plus i don't think the roadkill that it is served in would get through customs.

I will give another thumbs-up to Nosh.
We live only about a block away, so delivery is very fast to us.

The food has been very good the two times we have had it.
I think the introductory offer of 20% off end on the 20th, so you still have a good chance to save even more.

BTW what are the opinions on Fields prepared food delivery?
It looks promising and we would like to try it soon.

Had Nosh (http://www.noshdelivery.com) 3 times now. Really like their cous cous salad and mushroom quiche. The recipes are definitely from a German kitchen, even the Thai green curry. Hard working guys there...first time I ordered the guy who took my order on the phone (ordered online but they were out of something so they rang me) was the same person who delivered the food! Love people who are not afraid of hard work.

Tex-Mex food delivery has a new option and its been consistently very good as well - Taco Mama's http://www.tacomamas.com or order through http://www.mealbay.net All the burritos I have had (including the 1-kilo version!) have tasted great. Also had the steak fajitas and steak taco's - quite tasty. Highly recommend them.

Organic option - been getting into Organic Kitchen http://www.organickitchenshanghai.com as well lately because I love their bento boxes. Very non-traditional with Italian, Indian and other options. Food is solid but not over the top amazing but its a nice little mix served on a biodegradable paper food tray. Feel like I am in school again eating off it.

Oh yeah, speaking of delivery, I suppose most of you know but Sherpa's http://www.sherpa.com.cn still has their happy hour deal from 3pm - 5pm Monday - Friday. If you order during this time, you get free delivery if you type "Happy Hour" in the comments section when you place your order online.

And Mealbay http://www.mealbay.net still gives a free soft drink if you order online and spend over 100 rmb. They used to give Shanghai Expat members 2 free drinks.. not sure if they still do but wouldn't hurt to ask if you ring them.

Just had Fields Prepared dishes
We had
Kung Pao Chicken ¥85
General Tso's Chicken ¥85
Delivered on time and hot
2 servings of each dish complete with two sets of rice
Certainly enough for 2 people
Thoroughly enjoyed it
Would recommend to anyone who cannot be bothered to go out or cook
I think the price is fair enough also
Hmmmmm..... Am I Cynical? In Shanghai there are 2 little words meaning No. These are"Yes" and "Maybe".

Their website seems to have no list of pizzas just a cover page?

Another vote for Taco Mama's. Had it twice now, and both times it was great. The tacos are delicious. They put shredded red cabbage in them.

Nosh's portion sizes compared to Element fresh? Looking at the menu, they seem to be about 2/3 the price and 2/3 the size.
