Where To Eat Thanksgiving Dinner In Shanghai This Year

It’s November, which means it’s time to start planning where you'll be stuffing your face with turkey this Thanksgiving holiday. To help you out we've compiled a handy list of some dining options announced so far this year. Be sure to book early to avoid disappointment otherwise you might just find yourself crying into a turkey sandwich from Subway.




Boxing Cat will be serving a butter roasted bird which is brined and basted in herbs and spices for 3-4 days beforehand. Dinner includes an array of sides such as sage dressing, creamed spinach with crispy shallots, baked mac & cheese and sweet potato biscuits. Prices will be 350 kuai for the full meal, 100 for kids and any under five can eat free. Free flow booze is also available for a bargain 100 kuai.

POP American Brasserie will be serving a Thanksgiving meal all day on the 23rd, 388 will get you four courses including one  main with turkey. No kids menu is offered but they can still order a la carte if they’re not hungry enough for the full meal. Neighbouring eatery, Shook! will also be adding a Thanksgiving menu with foie gras chestnut stuffing and pumpkin cake along with their turkey.

288 kuai will get you a place at Sasha’s Thanksgiving turkey buffet. Got kids? That'll be just 144 kuai a ticket and those under 10 can go free. Kids tickets will include soft drinks too. Dinner starts at 6pm and finishes at 10.

Liquid laundry will be offering a Thanksgiving spread but haven't finalised any details yet. Hard Rock are also planning some special festivities but have yet to announce their masterplan. The Cheesecake Factory down in Shanghai Disneytown will be pushing a few dishes this festive season, including their turkey burger and lemon-herb roasted chicken.

Most high end hotel restaurants that regularly offer buffets will be putting on a special spread for Thanksgiving such as the Shanghai Marriot’s Pudong City Bistro in Jinqiao. Prices here range from RMB198 for lunch and RMB298 for dinner, they also offer a five kilo bird to takeaway for 818.

Fields – prices range from 398 for a small 4.5kg turkey to 999 for a 5kg ready to serve roasted bird. They also offer complete Thanksgiving spreads with ready made sides, click here for more details. 


Kate & Kimi - Another well known Shanghai online grocers, whole turkeys from K&K are imports from Chile and start from 448 kuai for a 5.5-6kg bird. Epermarket also stocks turkeys from the same brand, Sopraval for similar prices.


If you really want to save the pennies and are feeling particularly adventurous we noticed you can buy whole turkeys straight from the farm on Taobao. 22 kuai per jin (around 0.5 kg).
