Christmas Arrives at Shanghai Disney!
Ah Christmas, truly the worst time of the year to be in Shanghai. While all your friends and family back home are sharing pics of themselves wrapped up in sweaters and opening presents around a fire, you’re sat in a cold dongbei restaurant contemplating how much longer you can hack it here. This year, why not mix things up a bit and shake off the seasonal misery by heading down to Shanghai Disney.
While arguably not as impressive as their previous Halloween offering, Disney’s Christmas refurb does have a couple of fun new things we recommend you check out, including a special Mickey performance and a daily tree lighting ceremony.
Disney's most popular characters dance the day away on Mickey Avenue
From now until January 1st visitors to the park can check out Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto and more get down on Mickey Avenue in their finest festive attire as they swing and jive to some classic Christmas hits. If you’re lucky and enthusiastic enough you might even be asked up to the front to dance along with the characters.
The castle lit up in a Frozen theme
Fans of Frozen will be happy to know that every evening Olaf the snowman hosts a special Christmas Tree lighting ceremony from up on the balcony of the Enchanted Storybook Castle. If you’re feeling festive, make sure to watch it near the massive Christmas tree. If you or your little ones love Frozen then you’re probably better off watching Olaf, Elsa and Anna near the castle.
Christmas merch e'ryday
As it’s Disney there’s also a whole bunch of Christmas merch and Christmas-themed food items on offer.
Some of the Christmas food offerings
If you’re a bit of a scrooge and hate Christmas, you can always skip the festivities and head to Tron to get your kicks that way.
Disney’s Christmas theme will run from today until January 1st 2018, make sure to check it out.
