Luxury Cinema with Bed Seats Opens in Hangzhou
A cinema in Hangzhou made headlines this week after revealing a brand new screen featuring beds where customers can stretch out and watch a movie just like they would at home.
Each bed is 1.2 metres wide and 1.5 metres long, seats two people, comes equipped with USB chargers and includes two blankets and two pillows to help customers get extra comfortable.
To prevent their customers getting lumped together with strangers, the cinema forces customers to buy both spots on the bed with each ticket reportedly costing between ¥140 and ¥150.
As for any hanky panky that may take place in the dark, the cinema has it covered, telling journalists that they have security cameras in the theatre and that they have staff patrolling every 10-15 minutes to “check for customers who might be snoring.”
If any liquids do somehow manage to get spilt on the bed, the cinema claims they have backup mattresses for almost every bed and they can change the bedding as needed.
The new bed option was rolled out by the cinema in order to help them compete with other high-end cinemas in the city.
First a green KFC and now a luxury cinema featuring beds, what will Hangzhou think of next?
