Police On The Hunt For Suspect In Deadly Kindergarten Blast
A suspect has ben identified in the horrific blast that killed 8 people 66 injured at a kindergarten in Xuzhou, Jiangsu yesterday. Authorities have yet to name them publicly, but claim they are currently on the hunt for this piece of human garbage.
The motive is also as of yet unclear, though according to witness testimony, the explosion was caused by a gas tank at a roadside food stand.
As of 11pm last night, eight of the victims were in critical condition (below). Fortunately, there were no children among the casualties, according to Xinhua.
Attacks on kindergartens and primary schools aren't as uncommon as you might think in China. According to AP:
"In 2010, nearly 20 children were killed in attacks on schools, prompting a response from top government officials and leading many schools to beef up security by posting guards and installing gates and other barriers. Last year, a knife-wielding assailant injured seven students outside a primary school in a northern city."
Thank god for China's stringent gun laws or else attacks like these could've been a whole lot worse.
