UFC Legend and xXx Movie Star Confirmed for UFC Shanghai Fight

By Dan Entwistle

Just one day after legendary fighter Anderson Silva was pulled from the Shanghai fight card due to a failed drug test, the UFC have confirmed that former middleweight champion Michael Bisping will be stepping in to take his place.

Bisping will fight Gastelum in Shanghai just three weeks after being choked unconcious and losing his belt to George St-Pierre at UFC 217 in New York City.

Announcing the news on his Instagram feed earlier this morning, Michael Bisping wrote "why not" accompanied by a promotional picture of himself and Gastelum.

Bisping's opponent, Kelvin Gastelum, was a little more enthusiastic about the announcement, writing on Twitter:

While arguably not as well-known as Silva, British-born Bisping has made a reputation for himself in recent years as a brash fighter who isn't afraid to speak his mind. When he's not preparing for fights, Bisping also commentates for the UFC and is trying to get his film career off the ground, most recently starring alongside Vin Diesel in the box office flop xXx: The Return of Xander Cage.

UFC Shanghai will be held on November 25th at the Mercedes-Benz Arena.
