Main card fighters Michael “The Count” Bisping and Kelvin Gastelum separately took to the mats yesterday to show off their skills before holding a quick Q&A session with local media

“He’s very short, he’s like a little child and I have a longer reach. I’ve got better looks, I’m gonna kick him in the head and I’m gonna go get drunk,” said Former UFC Champion Michael Bisping jokingly when asked how he planned to beat Gastelum on the night.

Meanwhile Gastelum was taking matters far more seriously, looking to Saturday’s fight against the world number 2 middleweight as a way to drastically improve his career. “A win over Michael Bisping, he’s just coming off a title loss, it will set me up in those conversations to fight for the world championship.”

“I’m enjoying China, I love Asia,” said Joanna Jedrezejczyk “I’ve had some good dumplings. I like to try the culture, I like to meet the people, talk to them, I like to try the local food. I don’t stay in the hotel, I have my camera with me I have my backpack and after the media scrum I go to the city to see something around and try other food from the small restaurants. I’m really enjoying this.”

Silva and Gastelum in September before Silva's failed drug test

UFC Shanghai, the first UFC event to take place in Mainland China, was dealt a serious blow earlier this month when Gastelum’s original opponent, UFC legend Anderson Silva, was dropped from the card following a failed drug test. Incredibly, Bisping agreed to take Silva’s place just one week after losing to now UFC Middleweight champion George St-Pierre at UFC 217 on November 4th.
